Has the freedom of no school transitioned into the “I’m bored” mantra at your house too? The NLT GO Bible helps kids get excited about exploring God’s Word. The complete text of the accurate, understandable, and audibly enjoyable New Living Translation is surrounded by over 600 kid-approved features so kids understand that the Bible isn’t just a big book of old stories but a life-changing experience that is relevant for their lives today.
Need a few activities for the “I’m bored” moment? We’ve got you covered. Here are just a few examples of features from the GO Bible for you to try.
Key Verse Challenges
Key Verse Challenges focus on a verse of the Bible and come with a fun, interactive challenge to help kids (and adults) remember and understand it. Here are few to try. We would love it if you tagged us on Instagram with videos or pics of what you did (@nltbible@tyndalebibles).
Factoids
Are your kids fans of fun facts, “Did You Know,” or “Weird But True”? Factoids point out interesting, strange, fun, and engaging facts about the Bible your kids (or even your friends) might not know are there. You can play your own “Did You Know” game using just a few of the many Factoids found throughout the GO Bible.
Interactive Reading
Sometimes when reading the Bible, kids can get lost or bored and start to disengage. The GO Bible was created to help kids know the Bible was written for them, too! First, it has the engaging New Living Translation text that helps kids not just read but also comprehend God’s Word. In addition to the who, what, where, when, why, and how of each Bible book introduction, there is also a “Seek and Find” section with four important points to look out for in that book of the Bible. It’s a way to keep kids’ ears open and minds engaged while helping them learn how to study the Bible.
A 40-Day Lenten Inspire Bible-Journaling Experience
Tyndale House Publishers
During the Easter season, Tyndale partnered with Faith & Art Shop at Logos Bookstore in Kent, OH, to offer a 40-day Inspire Bible-journaling Lenten experience. Either instead of or in addition to giving up something for Lent, we reflected on all we have been given through Christ’s sacrifice! We focused on one Scripture passage each day, along with one key word from the New Living Translation text for each day’s passage. We also colored and meditated on Scripture line-art illustrations from various Inspire Bibles for the seven Sundays throughout Lent.
“I am so happy that we could partner with Tyndale on this Bible-journaling project for Lent. The people who joined in appreciated having a word and verse to focus on each day. It encouraged them and us!” said Ann Kardos of Faith & Art Shop. Ann and her mom, Becky Gorczyca of Logos, are well-known in the Bible-journaling community for curating an amazing collection of journaling Bibles and creative supplies at Logos Bookstore in Kent and in their beautiful booths at scrapbooking events to inspire creativity in their customers. If you’re ever in Kent, OH, or at an event they’re exhibiting at, stop by and say hi to Ann, Becky, Bridgett Brainard, and the rest of their team at the shows! Bridgett teaches their workshops and helps people get started with Bible journaling at the make and take section of the booth. Follow Ann @faithandartshop for deals and inspiration.
Ann also invited local podcasters Len and Sara of Start Your Day Positive podcast to be part of the experience. Each day, Len and Sara shared the word of the day on their podcast along with some reflections. You can connect with them on Instagram @startyourdaypositive_podcast.
Mai of @mai_faith.in.jesus on Instagram is a lover of Bible journaling & everything Scripture. She posted every day throughout the journey and said, “I have had a wonderful time delighting in the Lord and in his Word. Psalm 1 tells us that if we want to live a blessed life, we need to delight in the law of the Lord and meditate on it day and night. Bible journaling is a wonderfully creative way to enter into God’s presence, to worship him through delighting in his Word, and be transformed through its power as we meditate on his truth. If you are looking for a simple way to grow your faith while being intentionally in God’s Word, I recommend Bible journaling. It’s simple and effective enough for the new believer looking to know more about God and the Bible, yet it’s powerful for the faithful believer to really dig deep.”
Vivi of @tallercreativorose on Instagram said, “It was an intentional time of reflection on the Word of God. Every day and every verse of study took us to see Jesus and learn more about his sacrifice on the cross. Being able to enjoy the Scripture with art, between papers and stickers or the illustrations from Inspire Bibles, allowed me to enjoy my relationship with God. These 40 days of Lent were a great blessing, thank you for this activity.”
It’s always a joy to collaborate with Ann at Faith & Art Shop! She is incredible and shares the passion to inspire and equip people to read and engage with God’s Word and express themselves creatively so Scripture sticks in our hearts and minds and inspires us to align our lives with God’s Kingdom purposes. It was exciting to see people from 71 countries around the world interested in checking out this Bible-journaling journey through Lent! Thank you to everyone who collaborated with us and posted their Bible-journaling photos. You’ve inspired so many!
We look forward to more Bible-journaling experiences in partnership with Faith & Art Shop to inspire Bible-reading and creativity! Join us on Instagram @theinspirebible and @faithandartshop, and sign up to receive our Inspire Bible Journaling emails so you’ll stay in the know.
