Is It OK to Look At Anything I Want?

“Your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body. When your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light. But when it is unhealthy, your body is filled with darkness.” Luke 11:34, NLT

In Luke 11:34, Jesus says that your eyes are like lamps that shine into your heart. That means what you look at can either shine light into your life or stamp out the light. Jesus gives a clear choice. Option 1: Light. Look at what’s good. This fills your mind with good, clean, pure thoughts. You don’t feel guilty. You’re free! Option 2: Darkness. Look at what’s evil—some TV shows, R-rated movies, or bad websites. This fills your mind with unclean thoughts, making you feel guilty and distant from God. These images can stay in your mind for years, causing all kinds of problems. So, with Jesus’ words in mind, how would you answer this question?
