Gilgal Gospel Mission Brings Hope to India

Tyndale House Foundation provided major funding to build a library at the Gilgal Gospel Mission in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, south India. A seminary is located there that is part of their mission outreach. The library is a vital resource for the students. In addition to the seminary, the mission includes a children’s home and supports a vigorous church-planting ministry.

Christobel Russelliah, who leads the Gilgal Gospel Mission, visited Tyndale House recently and spoke to us about her passion for ministry. She said, “Our main focus at Gilgal Gospel Mission is according to the last commandment of Jesus Christ, ‘Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel’. We train our seminary students to go out into the communities and do weekend ministry.” Evangelism is difficult and takes time because the students must first develop relationships with the local people before they can begin to preach the gospel. This requires doing acts of service and building friendships.

“I will be always grateful to Tyndale House Foundation,” says Christobel. “The last few years, all of our graduates received the Life Application Study Bible upon graduation. I’m grateful, and I’m sure God will enlarge their territory because of their heart to expand the Word of God into the hands of God’s children.”
