Kindness | Tyndale Blog

I Can Be Kind   is the title of a darling new lift-the-flap book by Amie Carlson. The detailed illustrations by Heather Heyworth will hold your child’s attention as you have them search and find different objects.

The theme of the book, kindness, reminded me that we can all probably be more intentional about reinforcing this character quality in our children or grandchildren.

How about catching your child being kind? Capture the kind act in a photo. Use the photo to praise your child for being kind.

Make a mini-book about kindness filled with photos starring your child. You don’t need to have a picture for every page to begin. Use what you have and look for opportunities to add to your book.

I’m making mini-books for two of my friends who have preschool age grandchildren. I will pair the photo booklet with the book about kindness as little gifts for these grandmothers who spend extra time each week with these precious ones. I know they are always looking for activities to do with them.

  • 4x6” photo book (I found mine at Dollar Tree )

Love Your Neighbor Stickers

Activity Time :

Read a book or Bible story about kindness. Talk about what it means to be kind. Who has been kind to you? What did they do that was kind?

Make a cover insert for your photo book, decorate it with stickers or drawings. Insert photos and talk about what was happening in the photo and how your child showed kindness. And don’t forget to add hugs! What could be kinder than that?
