Foundation Focus: From Easter Sunday to Everyday Mission

Easter celebrations have come and gone, but the reality of what Easter means for our lives as believers remains the same. Lent is a season of build-up and preparation, allowing believers to anticipate and journey toward the trial, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. And then, Easter arrives! Resurrection Sunday invites us to embrace the celebration of death defeated and eternal life made available through Christ Jesus for all who believe.

We journey to Easter, but we are called to journey somewhere from Easter as well. The resurrection also serves as a sending point, reminding us of the call we have when we know the Good News and experience salvation to carry it forward to all people. It’s the same journey that the women were called to after being told of the resurrection, tasked to “go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead to Galilee.” (Matthew 28:7). And it’s the same journey the disciples were set upon after Jesus revealed himself to them at Galilee, declaring, “I have given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20). The Great Commission is the mission we, the church, are still called to today.

At Tyndale House Foundation, we partner with organizations sharing the gospel and discipling believers in an effort to see the understanding, attitudes, and behaviors of people formed in the image of Jesus. We have global partners involved in discipleship work including, evangelistic outreach, leadership development, Scripture engagement, and youth ministry. Our partners participate in a variety of creative projects and programs all over the world, and a few examples of ministry efforts include broadcasting Christian content across the Middle East, creating digital Scripture resources in the Czech language, and engaging in youth discipleship through sports programming in the Dominican Republic.

This month, join us in praying for THF’s partners around the world who are helping disciples of Jesus to remain deeply rooted in the truth of Scripture and knowledge of God’s love, so that his name may be known to the ends of the earth!

  1. Pray that there would be contextualized and accessible resources so that people of all ages and in all places can engage with and understand scripture for themselves.
  2. Pray for those engaged in evangelism worldwide, that they would be bold in the face of opposition, and safe from persecution.
  3. Pray that leaders would be developed to model the character and integrity of Christ.
  4. Pray for the younger generations to be equipped with a deeply rooted faith and a passion for making Jesus known around the world.
  5. Pray for ministries and leaders discipling others throughout the world! Take a moment to think of a leader or ministry that you admire, and pray for them specifically.

The gospel is good news that is meant to be shared, and at Tyndale, we are grateful for organizations around the world who are discipling believers and advancing God’s Kingdom.
