really got so much out of this book! The theme seemed to be on the importance the small, but seemingly insignificant moments and decisions we make--that these decisions are actually the ones that define you, and define your marriage. The Dungys' story interested me and really caught my interest from the first chapter. The way they used the story of their meeting, their courtship, and their marriage to teach was great! They wove that together well so that it didn't sound too "preachy" but had just the right mix of encouragement, inspiration, and challenge. I think everyone should read this book and I'm fairly certain something in their story will connect with something in yours. It would also be a really great book (along with the study guide) to use for a marriage bible study class. Definitely recommend!
Uncommon Marriage by Tony & Lauren Dungy was a great book on marriage. They are open with their lives, marriage, successes, and failures. A lot of the events were repeated in Dungy's Quiet Strength, but it was nice to read Lauren's perspective as well. It ends with 8 core marriage principles found in Scripture, as well as how the Dungy's lived them out in their marriage. I recommend this book.
