Safely Home is not only a first-class story; it’s a bracing wake-up call about Christian persecution in China. You’ll be challenged.
by Chuck Colson
This brilliant story mixes the warmth of a good novel with the harsh reality of the persecuted church.
by Dr. Tim LaHaye
Is this the day I die? Li Quan asks himself this question daily, knowing that he might be killed for practicing his faith. American businessman Ben Fielding has no idea what his brilliant former college roommate is facing in China. He expects his old friend has fulfilled his dream of becoming a university professor. But when they are reunited in China after twenty years, both men are shocked at what they discover about each other. Thrown together in an hour of encroaching darkness, both must make choices that will determine not only the destinies of two men, but two families, two nations, and two worlds.
What a challenging, inspiring book!! What would I do if faced with persecution for my faith? Would I stand strong and faithful with Quan? A very good book to challenge your faith.
Amazing Book! Very inspiring overall a good read.
Don't read this book unless you are ready to be challenged and inspired. Beautifully written, full of scripture, and cultural insights. I highly recommend this book to anyone seeking to learn more about the persecuted church, what it means to follow Jesus with your entire life, soul, and mind, and to the American Christian who has not encountered Christianity in other cultures.
Safely Home is an amazing book!!!! There are two main protagonists, an American businessman and a member of an underground church in China. You switch between their points of view and heaven's view as they watch the events on earth. It looks at persecution of Christians, both in China and in the US, discussing difficult issues, such as interacting with other religions, treatment of women in Christianity, obeying the government versus civil disobedience, and what it means to be a Christian. This is a must-read book. It is highly recommended.
