So this is probably my favorite by Francine Rivers. She has a talent for writing books that keep your attention that makes it near impossible for the reader to put the book down. It's like a movie is easily being played out in front of me. Not only is the story great, but it also stays with you long after you finish and raising some very good thought provoking questions.
Upon initially picking it up, I wasn't sure I would like A Voice In the Wind, but it is a wonderful book! Francine Rivers has an amazing talent for creating stories that hold your attention and that you can't wait to keep reading!
A Voice in the Wind is my favorite Francine Rivers book. I first read it 15 years ago and it captivated me like no other work of fiction ever had. I recently saw this edition in a bookstore and it was so beautiful I had to have it! Because of that I have started reading it again and it is even more amazing than I remember. Definitely one of the top works of Christian fiction of all time! The Mark of the Lion series is now a classic.
A Voice in the Wind is one of my all-time favorite books. Hadassah's journey was convicting, encouraging, challenging, and absolutley beautful. Rivers does her research giving fascinating insight into life in Rome and Ephesus during the times of the early Christian church. The love stories are wonderful, the character journeys for truth and God are beautiful, and therefore I've read through them twice and will come back again in the future. I really can't praise it enough. Warning...have the second book An Echo in the Darkness ready to read, as this ends with a major cliffhanger!
The first time I read "Voice in the Wind" I cried my eyes out. I was in disbelief at the ending (I won't give it away!), and the heroine's faithfulness to God had a big impact on me. My mom and I read this book out loud together when I was a teenager. Such a special memory! The story is well-paced, with believable characters and a tight, well-written plot. I highly recommend it!
