Wilford Wooten, M.S.W., L.M.F.T., L.C.S.W., is senior director of the counseling department at Focus on the Family, where he has served for 14 years. Before coming to Focus, he served in the Army for 24 years as a social work officer. With more than 35 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, he sees the first five years of marriage as critical. He has a master of social work degree and is licensed as a marriage and family therapist and a licensed clinical social worker. He has two sons and six grandchildren, and he has been married to Joan for 40 years.
