Spend Summer in the Gospels. Start with Matthew>
The Septuagint is the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Old Testament and was used both by Hellenistic Jews and early Christians. Today it is of inestimable value for the study of theology, philology, and the history of religion.
Until now, the reading of the Septuagint was reserved for a few specialists. There was no German-language edition. This volume contains the first complete German translation of the Septuagint. Each biblical book is preceded by an introduction and contains brief notes on the text’s transmission throughout. The reader-friendly font is set in two columns. Poetic texts such as the Psalms or the Song of Songs are reproduced in one column. Two supplementary volumes with detailed explanations have also been published.
