Product Description

After more than ten years of intensive preparation, the 6th edition of the UBS Greek New Testament (UBS6) will be published in 2026. This edition will be combined with a Greek-Spanish dictionary that covers the complete vocabulary of UBS6.

This work presents the most up-to-date Greek text, incorporating the textual revisions from the volumes of the Editio Critica Maior for the Acts of the Apostles (2017), the Gospel of Mark (2021), and the book of Revelation (2025). The text differs from the 5th edition in well over 100 places. It is identical to the 29th edition of the Novum Testamentum Graece (“Nestle-Aland”), which is in preparation for 2026.

The apparatus includes clearly structured entries on all important variants of the text. The selection of passages was guided by the question of their relevance for translation and interpretation. The significance of the so-called Textus Receptus has also been given greater consideration compared to earlier editions. The selection of manuscripts has been expanded from the 5th edition, focusing on the most important witnesses and supplemented by new manuscripts (Papyri 128 to 141). A readily accessible introduction (in English) leads into the edition.

Overall, this work is therefore better suited than ever for getting started with exegetical and text-critical work on the New Testament in its original language.

It is published by an international and interdenominational panel, which is also responsible for NA29 and works closely with the Institute for New Testament Textual Research: Holger Strutwolf, Hugh Houghton, Christos Karakolis, David Parker, Stephen Pisano, David Trobisch, and Klaus Wachtel. The dictionary was authored by Barclay M. Newman.

  • Including all text changes from the ECM
  • Apparatus containing all important text variants
  • Published by an international and interdenominational body
