Greg Allgood
Dr. Greg Allgood is vice president of water and health at World Vision, the largest Christian relief and development organization in the world. Under Greg's leadership, World Vision has reached more than thirty-five million people with clean water since 2016more than the population of Texas. At World Vision, he championed the effort to "finish the job" and reach everyone, everywhere World Vision works with clean water.
Prior to joining World Vision, Greg worked for Procter & Gamble (P&G) for twenty-seven years and was the founder of the P&G Children's Safe Drinking Water program, the P&G Nutrition Science Institute, and the P&G Health Sciences Institute. He earned a PhD in toxicology from North Carolina State University and both a master of science degree in public health and a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of North CarolinaChapel Hill.
Greg has worked with a wide range of C-suite executives as well as celebrities who have supported his efforts. He has partnered with individuals, corporations, and foundations resulting in more than $1.6 billion invested in providing clean water in the developing world. He has created cause-marketing programs used by global brands and retailers to successfully build businesses.
The programs Greg led at P&G and World Vision have resulted in two dozen awards recognizing Greg's expertise in both public health and marketing, including the Condé NastVisionary, The EconomistSocial Innovation Award, Distinguished Alumni of the Year by the University of North Carolina, and one of the top 100 marketers in the world by Internationalist Magazine.
Greg lives in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife, Elaine. They have four grown children and four grandchildren.
