Ellen Vaughn is a bestselling author and inspirational speaker. Besides Shattered, her recent books include Time Peace, Radical Gratitude, Lost Boy, and It's All About Him. The last debuted at #1 on the New York Times bestseller list. Vaughn's award-winning novels are The Strand and Gideon's Torch, which she coauthored with Chuck Colson. She collaborated with Colson on eight other nonfiction books.

Former vice president of executive communications for Prison Fellowship, Vaughn speaks frequently at retreats and conferences. She holds a MA from Georgetown University and a BA from the University of Richmond.

Vaughn and her husband Lee live in the Washington, D.C. area with their teenagers Emily, Haley, and Walker. She enjoys walking, drinking coffee, and staring pensively at the ocean.
