Bob Smithouser

has ministered at Focus on the Family for more than twenty years, sixteen of them as the editor of Plugged In, an award-winning publication designed to help parents navigate popular youth culture. Since 1995 he has answered young people's entertainment questions in "High Voltage," a monthly column in Focus on the Family's Brio, Breakaway and Clubhouse magazines. He has authored three previous books with Tyndale House (Chart Watch, Movie Nights, Movie Nights for Teens), and contributed to projects including Dr. James Dobson's Bringing Up Girls. Bob currently writes and edits for pluggedin.com, and hosts The Official Plugged In Podcast. He earned a Masters degree in Communication Studies from the University of Kentucky, where he also taught public speaking. He enjoys teaching Sunday school and coaching youth sports in Colorado Springs, where he lives with his wife, Julie, teenage daughter, Shelby, and son, Colin.
