Eleven Tyndale House Employees to Embark on Mission with Operation Mobilisation International

ELEVEN TYNDALE HOUSE EMPLOYEES TO EMBARK ON MISSION WITH OPERATION MOBILISATION INTERNATIONAL

Carol Stream, IL — Eleven Tyndale House Publishers employees depart on Friday, March 6 for a weeklong missions cruise on Logos Hope, a ministry of Operation Mobilisation International. Representing nine departments and led by Jeff Johnson, Tyndale’s Chief Operating Officer, the Tyndale team will join the Logos Hope, now anchored in the Netherlands port of Harlingen, to serve with Operation Mobilisation in ports along the North Sea.

“While serving alongside the Logos Hope crew, Tyndale’s team will have the opportunity to learn more about the work of Operation Mobilisation and see firsthand the results of Tyndale House Publishers, Inc., and the Tyndale House Foundation supporting this incredible ministry,” said Jeff Johnson.

The Logos Hope is the newest ship in OM Ships International, a division of Operation Mobilisation, whose goal is “to bring knowledge, help, and hope to the people of the world…by supplying vital literature resources, cross-cultural understanding, training young people for more effective life and service, providing needed relief, and sharing a message of hope in God wherever there is an opportunity.” An average of one million visitors come aboard every year, viewing various exhibits, browsing the six thousands titles available in the ship’s book fair, and interacting with the Logos Hope crew.

This is Tyndale’s second overseas employee mission project. In the fall of 2007, a team of Tyndale employees went to San José, Costa Rica to serve for a week with Casa Viva, a ministry that works with local churches to help children at risk. And, in 2006, Tyndale teams served stateside on Hurricane Katrina recovery projects with Samaritan’s Purse, sending two teams to Louisiana and one to Mississippi.

Operation Mobilisation International was founded by George Verwer in 1957 to mobilize young people to share their Christian faith. The Ships Ministry began in 1970 as part of the global Christian training and outreach movement. Since then OM’s ships have visited over 450 different ports in 150 countries and territories and have welcomed 37 million visitors on board.
