“BEST CHRISTIAN WORKPLACE” CERTIFICATION FOR TYNDALE HOUSE PUBLISHERS
Carol Stream, IL
— The Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI) has included Tyndale House Publishers in the 2009 list of certified Best Christian Workplaces in the United States.
In order to be certified, organizations must complete the Best Christian Workplaces Institute Employee Engagement survey and meet predetermined standards of excellence. The survey covers such issues as job satisfaction, organizational commitment, Christian witness, supervisory effectiveness, work satisfaction, personal growth and development, management effectiveness, customer/support satisfaction, teamwork, communications, and pay and benefits. Employees answer more than 50 questions addressing these topics, ranking each statement.
Nearly all (99%) of the 268 Tyndale employees took part in the survey. The 2009 survey involved more than 11,000 employees in 113 organizations across the United States and served to identify great workplaces with a Christian mission and/or values.
“The Best Christian Workplaces survey consistently reveals that Christian employees appreciate God-glorifying relationships shaped by the fruit of the Spirit,” observed Al Lopus, President, Best Christian Workplaces Institute, Mercer Island, Washington. “What makes Tyndale House Publishers unique is that they have met their performance goals over the past year. Also, there is a high level of trust between senior leadership and employees,” said Lopus.
Established in 2002, the Best Christian Workplaces Institute serves faith-based organizations by creating processes of discovery, facilitating organizational effectiveness, and encouraging practices that build healthy workplaces.
“We are encouraged by this Best Christian Workplaces certification,” said Mark Taylor, President, Tyndale House Publishers. “We are thankful that our employees have such high regard for the Tyndale community, the work experience, and the opportunity for ministry impact.”
