The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines
This is probably one of the craziest stories that I never knew could be true. The unbelievable story of our beloved Fixer Upper couple is one that has kept me reading at my fastest clip. It has inspired me to trust God more, and to take bigger leaps of faith. If you love a good story of God providing, you will LOVE this story!

Ready or Not: Leaning into Life in Our Twenties by Drew Moser & Jess Fankhauser
This is a book I have been recommended by a coworker. I’ve been meaning to pick it up and wish I had the opportunity to pick it up earlier. Ready or Not provides a framework for anyone in their twenties for a transition into adulthood that is free from fear, encouraging people to embrace the tensions. Written by two young adults who have walked through their twenties and mentored students, this guide book encourages reflection on the topics of vocation, God, relationships, and other areas of life. I am excited to continue reading through this book and to learn what it means to live well in my twenties.

The Girl Who Smiled Beads by Clemantine Wamariya
The Girl Who Smiled Beads is the story of Clemantine Wamariya, a girl who escaped the Rwandan genocide at just six years old and spent the next six years fleeing violence with her older sister across the African continent before being brought to the United States as a refugee. The narrative switches throughout the book between her life “before” – on the run, focused only on survival – and “after – attending a prep school in the Chicago suburbs. The contrast is jarring and Wamariya writes candidly about the painful tension of leaving a home you love to seek refuge in a place that may never feel like your own. This portrait of the refugee experience is just a snapshot and cannot even begin to encompass all the brutality, fear, and inhumanity of Wamariya’s past, but it is important. I am grateful for the chance to grow ever so slightly in my compassion and understanding because of this story.

So I pulled out my copy and started reading. The book is set in Jo s Rogue World after she d written the stories of her dozen Rogues, who had forged an alliance as schoolboys at Harrow as a defense against bullying. But her world was so well developed and interesting that stories just kept coming.
