1. What is your favorite literary romance, and what makes it your favorite?

Anything Jane Austen, especially Pride and Prejudice. I love the books and I love the movies.

2. Which novel did you most enjoy writing, and why?

The Last Sin Eater was the most fun because I had no idea what was coming next.  It was as much a mystery to me as it was to readers.  And there was the tragic love story of Bletsung Macleod and Sim Gillivray, the sin eater, who had to wait for their happy ending.

3. What is your favorite Valentine’s memory, or what is the most romantic thing anyone ever did for you?

Rick and I took my wedding rings in to a jeweler to have them repaired a few years ago.  They wanted to show me a ring with a beautiful canary diamond.  I said no way was I going to put that ring on, and I certainly didn’t want to see the price tag.  Without saying anything, Rick went back a week later to pick up my repaired rings.  Our anniversary (December 21), but he said he couldn’t wait to give me my gift and handed me a ring box.   He’d taken all the cash he’d saved over a number of years to buy his dream car, a Thunderbird, and bought that canary diamond ring for me instead.  This didn’t happen on Valentine’s Day and therefore isn’t a Valentine’s memory – but it is the romantic, sacrificial thing I have experienced and it still makes me teary.  That was a few years ago, and now —  even after forty-six years of marriage — my husband, Rick, is still the most giving, romantic man I know.
