Hey, Crazy4Fiction readers. This is Alyssa, associate marketing manager at Tyndale House Crazy4Fiction. Every year since I can remember, my family has dedicated an entire day to baking Christmas cookies.

Crazy4Fiction 25 Days of Christmas

We make a large assortment of cookies, from peanut butter to mint to molasses. But my favorite has always been the classic sugar cookie cutout. (If you are interested, my recipe is below.) After all of the cookies are baked, we make tons of frosting in all sorts of different colors and decorate the night away. Please enjoy watching my family’s home video of our yearly tradition.

ALYSSA’S RECIPE:

White Butter Sugar Cookies

Cream together in a mixing bowl:

  • 1 cup of butter
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten

Mix together in a separate bowl:

  • 3 cups of flour
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Mix dry and wet ingredients together.

Chill dough for at least an hour and then bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until cookies are golden brown.

There’s just something special about Christmas cooking that can always evoke a memory. Below, America’s favorite Duck Commander family, the Robertsons, share their favorite holiday treats.

Miss Kay—Lizzy’s cookies. They have candied cherries inside them.

Willie—turkey

Korie—crawfish pie

John Luke—fried shrimp

Sadie—sweet potato casserole
