Dr. Lederhouse has served on the faculty of the Department of Education at Wheaton College for over thirty years. Before coming to Wheaton, she taught in the Chicago Public School District, and her love for the urban classroom continues today. An acclaimed expert in Early Education, Dr. Lederhouse is committed to equipping and preparing Christian educators to teach all students to flourish.

Brita Beitler

Adjunct Professor of Education

Wheaton College

Brita Beitler serves as an Adjunct Professor of Education at Wheaton College, where she instructs student teachers about language-arts practices. She earned her M.A. in Literacy, Language, and Culture from The University of Michigan while also teaching English at both the elementary and middle-school level in Ypsilanti, MI. She later moved to Rhode Island, where she worked as a Literacy Coach in Portsmouth and served on both the Rhode Island State Literacy Team and the NAEP Reading Advisory Panel. She currently finds herself teaching and helping her own boys—a third-grader and a kindergartener—navigate the world of online learning. She will be attending Indiana University this fall to begin work on her Ed.D. in Literacy, Culture, and Language Education.
