Phil Swihart is director of counseling services and community relations for the counseling department at Focus on the Family. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Purdue University and a master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition to being in private practice as a clinical psychologist, he has served as an assistant professor at California State University, Northridge; a clinical psychologist and executive director at the Center for Mental Health in Montrose, Colorado; executive director of the Ray Foundation in Denver; executive director of the Boulder County United Way in Boulder, Colorado; division director of the Pikes Peak Mental Health Center in Colorado Springs; and a psychologist at the Rocky Mountain Healthcare Brain Injury Program in Colorado Springs. He has been married for 37 years to Linda; they have three adult children.
