Charles H. Spurgeon

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) is one of the most beloved preachers in the history of the English-speaking world. As a celebrated Baptist preacher, he served for thirty years at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London, which seated six thousand people. It is estimated that early in his career, his sermons sold twenty-five thousand copies per week and that throughout his lifetime, he preached to ten million people. His collected sermons during his ministry with the New Park Street Church and the Metropolitan Tabernacle fill sixty-three volumes. With influence reaching across the globe in his day, Spurgeon’s wisdom is still alive over a hundred years after his death through the legacy of his writings.
