THP: What first attracted you to Tyndale House Publishers?
Janis: I was first attracted to Tyndale House while working for a different company. That company did some of Tyndale's typesetting. Tyndale was expanding their design department and I applied and was hired 18 years ago. I am thankful for working for a Christian based company that honors God through its products.
THP: What has made your department a pleasant/enjoyable place to work?
Janis: There are 22 very creative employees that work in teams while various products are designed for three different publishing groups. The teams work together while respecting one another's approach to solve the various tasks within the project. Everyone is willing to pitch in and help get the job done to the best of their ability and go the second mile. The design department's vision statement is: "To honor God in the spirit of cooperation. We will create excellent design that is innovative and faithful to content."
THP: What has made Tyndale House Publishers a unique/exceptional place to work?
Janis: Although I am in the design department, my job involves working with other departments. I help them with the resource items to promote the new products. We all have the same goal to minister to the spiritual needs of people primarily through literature consistent with the biblical principles. With this as our company's mission statement, we work together with this as our goal. The company officers and employees are truly concerned about one another as a family would be.
