01.04.13 Beyond Ordinary with Justin and Trisha Davis Justin and Trisha Davis sit down with Tyndale Publicist Christy Stroud and talk about their new book Beyond Ordinary. How safe is your marriage? The answer may surprise you. The biggest threat to any marriage isn’t infidelity or miscommunication. The greatest enemy is ordinary. Ordinary marriages lose hope. Ordinary marriages lack vision. Ordinary marriaBeyondOrdinary Podcastges give in to compromise. Ordinary is the belief that this is as good as it will ever get. And when we begin to settle for ordinary, it’s easy to move from “I do” to “I’m done.” Justin and Trisha Davis know just how dangerous ordinary can be. In this beautifully written book, Justin and Trisha take us inside the slow fade that occurred in their own marriage—each telling the story from their own perspective. Together, they reveal the mistakes they made, the work they avoided, the thoughts and feelings that led to an affair and near divorce, and finally, the heart-change that had to occur in both of them before they could experience the hope, healing, and restoration of a truly extraordinary marriage.
03.18.13 Wayne Shepherd interviews Alister McGrath Wayne Shepherd, host of First Person (www.firstpersoninterview.com) interviews Dr. Alister McGrath, author of C. S. Lewis - A Life. Dr. Alister McGrath one of the leading theologians in the world, has just published a biography of C.S. Lewis, the Christian apologist, novelist, and literary critic. The release of this book marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Lewis in 1963 on the same day that J.F.K was assassinated. I was made aware of this excellent new book when it was requested that I interview Dr. McGrath for the audiobook edition of “C.S. Lewis: A Life”. It was such an enjoyable experience that I asked him if he would also join me on FIRST PERSON. In this interview Dr. McGrath explains why he wanted to write a biography of Lewis and touches on several important aspects of his life, including Lewis’ relationship with his father following the early death of his mother, his war experience, and his friendship with the creative group known as The Inklings.
07.29.13 Interview with Lex Luger Lex Luger, wrestling megasensation and three-time world heavyweight champion, ruled the ring for years as “The Total Package.” Whether he was making a dramatic entrance from a helicopter, defeating champ Hulk Hogan, or sculpting a near-perfect physique, Lex was on top of his game. Yet backstage, he was wrestling with addictions to sex, drugs, and alcohol—things he clung to even when his mistress died suddenly of a drug overdose and Lex went to jail. There, Lex faced the truth: he was losing the fight for his life. And still awaiting him was his most brutal opponent yet, when the wrestling champ found himself helplessly paralyzed from the neck down. In Wrestling with the Devil, Lex Luger reveals never-before-told stories from his career, his struggle with personal demons, and how, through unexpected faith, grace, and redemption, he overcame all odds to fight the only battle that really matters. - See more at: LexLugerBook.com
09.09.13 Interview with Karen Whiting author of The One Year My Princess Devotions Princesses are a big attraction for most girls, especially preschoolers and early readers. The One Year My Princess Devotions is written for early readers and preschoolers. Each devotion sheds light on how the reader is a princess—a daughter of God, the King. The devotions also emphasize how little princesses should respond to being God’s children. Each devotion includes Royal Words (the Bible verse), Princess Thoughts (a short devotion written for early readers), a Prayer, and a Princess in Action section (an activity related to the devotion). The devotions are thematic according to the calendar. For example, January features creation and February highlights love. Little Princesses will look forward to learning more about their King each day.

07.24.15 Interview with Nicole Unice An interview with Nicole Unice, author of Brave Enough. Find the courage to be who you are—not who you wish you were. Is fear holding you back from becoming your best self? Does it add stress to your day and keep you up at night? What could be different if you let go and started living brave today? Bravery doesn’t have to mean cliff diving out of your comfort zone. Life is about being brave enough—for yourself, for God, for your tasks, and for your calling—right where He’s placed you. A brave-enough life is one lived fully and confidently, with your shoulders relaxed and free from the weight of responsibility and the burden of trying too hard. Nicole Unice, author of She’s Got Issues, wants that life to become a reality for you. She challenges you to get real about where you are right now—the places where you feel too scared to change, too tired to endure, or too worried to let go. Through personal stories and practical application, Nicole will lead you on a journey to harness all of your misspent doubts, concerns, and fears—and discover what God is saying about who you can be.
08.12.15 An interview with Dimas Salaberrios, author of Street God An interview with Dimas Salaberrios, author of Street God. His street name was Daylight. But he was a nightmare. On the streets of New York, darkness and violence reigned. Dimas “Daylight” Salaberrios popped his first pill when he was eleven years old, and just days later, he was selling drugs to his schoolmates. By fifteen, he was facing time at the notorious Rikers Island Prison. It was never safe to turn your back, and Dimas saw only one chance to survive: to become a street god. He would be the richest, most powerful ruler in the hood . . . or die trying. But in one terrifying moment, with a gun pointed at his head, Dimas had to decide: How far would he go? Was he finished taking reckless chances to rule as a god of the streets? Would he dare to entrust his life to the real God—an even riskier path? Because that God would send Dimas back down the darkest streets he’d ever known on a rescue mission after those still in danger. Street God is the true story of one man’s against-all-odds journey from the streets to the altar and back again. A modern-day The Cross and the Switchblade for a new generation, it reveals that we’re never too far gone for God to change us—and shows how a single spark can illuminate even the darkest existence.
