loving the return of USA to the gold…it’s been hard since the young ladies don’t get to repeat or threepeat as they could in the past (remember ‘the swan’ on the Russian team?)

I have loved watching gymnastics since I can remember. My first gymnastics Olympic memory was when Carly Patterson won the USA’s second AA. From then on it was my dream to compete in the Olympics. Unfortunately a shoulder injury stopped me from doing the sport I love but it is my favorite sport by far. My favorite event to watch is bars because it is so fluid and amazing to see the release moves. Shawn Johnson is my favorite gymnast because I love her poise and mature personality. I absolutely loved seeing her win the 2008 beam gold because she totally deserved it. I am so proud of all the accomplishments that Team USA has achieved in these 2012 Olympics. Winning this book would mean the world to me.

      hi

    • Dian

My favorite is Shawn Johnson. I loved her in Dancing With The Stars and her commercial is adorable. She is an awesome gymnast and a great role model.

    • Tonya

I love watching gymnastics because I am a gymnastics coach and my daughter is a gymnast herself. We love watching all the events because they keep you on your toes. Great job to all our gymnasts. Congratulations Aly on your two medal win today.

I’ve always been facinated by the determination, composure and dedication of gymnasts, both men and women. They give up so much to follow their dreams and prove that you can do anything you want if you are willing to put forth the effort and make sacrifices.

I have always enjoyed watching gymnastics, even when I was very young. Now that my daughter is a competitive gymnast, we enjoy watching even more as she gets inspired.I can’t even pick a particular event, I like them all.

I dedicated my life to the sport for 8 years until high school took over. I will always love it and watching the olympics and competitions throughout the years have really made me remember all the joys of competing and loving the sport. Congrats to the USA Gymnasts that competed in London, you were great!

I liked watching gymnastics as a child and continue to enjoy the competition with my husband and son. It is fun to hear my son’s commentary on the routines!

They pull off some amazing fleets…you never know what will happen. There’s always a twist or turn in the competition. I just love when they stick a landing and nail a routine. I give them a lot of credit for making it look easy. These are some great athletes!

Gymnastics is my favorite Olympic event. I like watching the floor routines best.

There is nothing like hard-work and dedication paying off, each Olympian is proof of that. Team USA you are making us proud! Keep shining bright!

There’s something some whimsical about seeing spunky girls fly through the air like there’s nothing to it. :) Plus knowing the great amount of training hours they put into to getting to the Olympics and seeing it pay off is priceless.

I love watching gymnastics in the olympics because it’s so fantastic to see a culmination of years of hard work, blood, sweat and tears finally come together for the greatest sporting event. Although I follow gymnastics year round, watching it during an Olympic year just fills my heart with an indescribable amount of joy and pride. Every gymnast wants to perform so well for themselves, their coaches, their country and their fans and even if they may stumble along the way, just being able to watch them is a marvelous privilege. My favorite event to watch is floor exercise because it allows gymnasts to combine power and elegance. You don’t feel it’s just a show, you feel its a performance that she feels and lives. It really just allows you to see the passion and personality of the gymnast shine through. So proud of team USA! Jordyn, Aly, Mckayla, Gabby and Kyla all worked together to bring home the team gold. Gabby showed the world just how good she is when she took the AA gold, and Aly put in a solid performance as well. Mckayla showed dynamism and power when she took the silver on vault. Aly had an amazing beam set to earn bronze. And undoubtedly Aly gave an unforgettable floor performance to strike gold in floor finals! Im sure she’ll be singing hava nagila in celebration on the plane ride home. Well done girls! You did your country proud as well as yourselves and you should leave London feeling accomplished and on top of the world!

My daughter (turns 6 in a couple weeks) is a budding gymnast, so I get to watch gymnasts practice several days a week, including Gabby. So we felt like we were watching a friend in London. SO proud of her!

I love watching gymnastics because of the combined artistry and athleticism. My earliest memory is Kerri Strug and the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. I remember it was so inspiring and I did not realize the impact that had on the United States until just recently.

    • Rose Enochs

What a fantastic Olympics for Team USA! They have done such a great job! It was great to see Aly win her individual gold medal today. The girls have made USA proud!

    • Kari

Just love watching the gymnasts fly, flip and twist. They make it look so easy, but it is so incredibly difficult!

I have always loved watching gymnastics especially when there are some gymnasts that are powerful and others that are graceful. It very interesting to watch the subtle differences in styles.

The Olympics in general have always been so inspiring to me to watch. I remember being a little girl and just being so awestruck by the talent displayed by the athletes. Gymnastics was always my favorite to watch; I would be able to stay up late to watch the whole event and it was just a special treat for me. I remember watching Team USA win that gold in 1996 and just how amazing of a moment that was for our country. I think the Olympics just stand for everything good in the world. For a moment in time, all nations unite and cheer athletes on. It is a time when war and political issues are shoved aside and good sportsmanship is inserted among countries instead of pettyness. I think what I love about Gymnastics (aside from the incredible flips/twists/jumps etc.) is that the athletes truly all unite and have to work as a TEAM. The way that the gymnasts work together is an incredible thing to watch… I think it’s half of what makes the sport so intriguing. Sure each individual athlete does their event one-at-a-time, but the team cheers each other on from the sidelines and you can just aways see how much they love, respect, and wish well for each other.Whether it was Carrie Strugg, Carly Patterson, Nastia Liukin, Shawn Johnson, or any one of this year’s Fab5 teammates, they all show such grace, poise, and sportsmanship. They have all been top gymnasts and despite any upsets they may face on the floor (winning a team silver instead of gold in 2008 for example) the girls always show USA that being strong, gracious, and just proud to be at the Olympics no matter what happens is the way to live. It is hard to choose a favorite, but Shawn Johnson has been my favorite for the past 5 years. She is a couple years younger than me, but I still feel I learn a lot just from seeing her always show the world that wearing a smile and being a kind, dedicated, and strong person is all you need to be/do in life. She has faced many hardships, but she always has a smile on her face and is determined to not only get through the hardships, but to turn them into something wonderful… Gymnastics inspires people of all ages to be better people; not everyone is or can be a gymnast, but they CAN learn to chase their dreams and learn that working hard and dedication to something can truly turn you into anything you want to be or help you achieve anything. So thank you to Team USA for always showing the world that dreams can be reality if you work hard and believe in yourself !
