Al Janssen
Since January 2002, Al has been writer in residence and director of communications with Open Doors International, a ministry that assists the church wherever it is being persecuted. He worked with Brother Andrew to write Light Force, which tells the story of Brother Andrew's work to help strengthen the church in the Middle East. Al and Brother Andrew have recently finished work on a sequel called Secret Believers about the church in the Islamic world.
In addition to his work with Open Doors, Al has also served on the staff of Focus on the Family, Campus Crusade for Christ, and Pro Athletes Outreach. He has written or coauthored more than 25 books, and in the process has worked with marriage experts such as Gary Smalley (with whom he coauthored Joy That Lasts), John Trent, Neil Clark Warren, Gary Rosberg, and many others.
Al and his wife, Jo, celebrated their thirtieth wedding anniversary on August 6, 2007. They have three children—Joshua (24), Jonathan (22), and Anna (18). Among the activities they enjoy are reading, walking, and baseball. They currently reside in Colorado Springs, Colorado. |
