Carol Stream, IL  – Tyndale House Publishers today announced that Bringing Up Girls, the April 13, 2010, release by Dr. James Dobson, will debut at No. 5 on the New York Times  hardcover “Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous” list on Sunday, May 2. The inclusion of Bringing Up Girls marks the fourth Tyndale title in the past two months to make a primary New York Times list, joining Beth Moore’s So Long, Insecurity (which reached as high as No. 2 on  their hardcover “Advice, How-To, and Miscellaneous” list), Mosab Hassan Yousef’s Son of Hamas (which reached as high as No. 10 on the hardcover nonfiction list), and Francine Rivers’s Her Mother’s Hope (which reached as high as No. 12 on the hardcover fiction list). The latter two will also appear on the Times expanded list on May 2.

Bringing Up Girls is the companion hit to Dobson’s Bringing Up Boys, which has sold more than 2 million copies to date. Based on extensive research, and handled with Dr. Dobson’s trademark down-to-earth approach, Bringing Up Girls will equip parents to face the challenges of raising daughters to become healthy, happy, and successful women.

As part of Dr. Dobson’s promotional tour, he made an appearance on FOX News’s Hannity  on Monday, April 12. He also participated in more than 50 national, regional, and local-market television and radio appearances.
