Kim Wier
Kim Wier has reached thousands with her message that God still speaks personally in the lives of ordinary people. She is the author of Are You Talking to Me? Every Woman's Guide to Hearing from God and coauthor of Redeeming the Season. She also writes a humorous yet spiritually significant weekly newspaper column. Kim is the founder and president of Engaging Women Ministries, a nonprofit ministry that inspires women to examine the Word of God and its relevance to their daily lives. She produces and cohosts a weekly, one-hour, live radio program called Engaging Women, which has featured interviews with such leaders of the faith as Elisabeth Elliot, Kathy Collard Miller, Elizabeth George, Grant Jeffrey, Neill Foster, and many others. Kim also hosts one-minute daily radio shorts called Engaging Moments Commentary. Kim takes her humor and insight on the road with her speaking ministry, Engaging Encounters—also under the umbrella of Engaging Women Ministries. In coordination with the release of Redeeming the Season, Kim and her coauthor, Pam McCune, have developed a Redeeming the Season Retreat. Both women, as experienced teachers and speakers, offer an engaging way of preparing emotionally, physically, and spiritually for the holidays. To all of these ministry areas, Kim brings diverse experience. She received a degree in communications with an emphasis in journalism and marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University (Texas) in 1985, where she also earned a secondary teacher's certification in English. Kim is a certified speaker through CLASS (Christian Leaders, Authors, and Speakers Services) and a recipient of the Amy Foundation Award for writing, second place, 2002. Kim is a former newspaper feature writer and public relations and marketing consultant. In ministry, Kim has served as a Bible teacher, leader, and speaker in numerous programs for both children and adults. Kim is currently pursuing syndication of her radio ministry and her weekly newspaper column. She is also preparing additional manuscripts for publication. In Redeeming the Season, Kim has taken her passion for challenging others to biblical living and cocreated a tool to help families view the holidays through the truths of God's Word. Kim lives in Nacogdoches, Texas, with her husband, Tony, and their three children, Chase, Bailey, and Hannah. Kim's family members serve as willing participants in her holiday experiments for creating a more spiritually enriching Christmas season. |
